Remote Learning – Remote Education

Remote learning is an essential part of our school curriculum and may be necessary if children are required to self-isolate due to covid-19.

Our remote learning follows the same curriculum content as the learning within school.

However, if your child is unwell due to covid-19, schoolwork would not be an expectation.

When is remote learning necessary?

Below are a range of circumstances when remote learning is required. They are:

  • a child is required to self-isolate, and they are fit and healthy.
  • school is only open to vulnerable children and critical workers.
  • school is closed to all children within term time.

Reach More Parents (formally WEDUC)

We use our home/school communication app for all our home learning.

Access Reach More Parents (formally WEDUC) App and select the – VIEW Home Learning tab. Within this tab you will see your child/ren. See below for the parent guide on how to upload to Reach More Parents (formally WEDUC) and send work back to teachers.

Click on the child/ren. This will show all learning available and the dates and times the work has been set.  Within this tab you will also be able to see comments about marked work from the teacher and next steps for learning.

There will also be links to our teacher’s videos. The video clips will show the teaching of a lesson including examples of how to tackle new problems and new learning. The videos can be viewed at a time suitable for yourself and the children. They can also be played more than once.  This allows for a greater flexibility in our approach.

We understand that many of you will be juggling working from home and remote learning at the same time. A sincere thank you – not an easy task by any means.

Access to devices:

Parents and carers who do not have the necessary devices for their child/ren to access Reach More Parents (formally WEDUC) should contact the school office to loan a device for this purpose.
